The Depot Museum

The Leeds Historical Society, in conjunction with the Mid-South Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society, invite you to visit the Leeds Depot Museum. The museum offers a recreated agents office with artifacts specific to the history of the original 1884 Leeds Depot itself as well as a display featuring the Birmingham Terminal Station. The Terminal Station, demolished in 1969, has been brought back to life in a beautifully replicated scale model displayed in one of the waiting rooms of the original Leeds Depot. At the museum you'll also be introduced to our connection with the legendary “Steel Driving Man” John Henry.

The Legend of John Henry

The Leeds Historical Society maintains a permanent exhibit dedicated to the enduring legend of John Henry in the main lobby of the Historic Leeds Railway Depot. To learn more of Leeds connection to the legend of John Henry visit our Resource Page.
